Woolen card woven trim.
Made to order. This band is handcrafted by me using an ancient weaving technique called tablet weaving.
The pattern is one of the most popular decorative motives from Iron Age to Late Middle Ages. The design can be seen on Hochdorf band (Iron Age), Vendel Kaftan presented on gullgubber foil or the brocaded trim from Stary Brzesc, Poland 13th c. This trim/belt will make a perfect addition to Celtic, Roman or early medieval costume, especially Viking.
